Cohesity Webcast: Making Application Mobility for Test/Dev Across VMware Infrastructure and Public Clouds a Reality

Cohesity Webcast: Making Application Mobility for Test/Dev Across VMware Infrastructure and Public Clouds a Reality

Topic: Enterprise organization that in the process of transforming their private VMware clouds into hybrid clouds are often presented with scenarios for making on-premises virtual machine, applications, and data readily usable in public clouds. Traditionally, achieving such tasks is not easy due to the migration and conversion of virtual machine and how it may impact application and data stored within them. These challenges are further magnified when having to guarantee that the necessary migrations and conversion functions will be performed without making any significant changes or modifications to the virtual machines that can impact the applications and data stored within the virtual machines.

Good news- Cohesity has introduce a new feature to their DataPlatform called CloudSpin. CloudSpin introduces a new capability which accelerates your test/dev initiatives in the cloud. With CloudSpin you can:
• Eliminate expensive copies of data: You don’t have to make multiple copies of data to enable your application development teams. Developers can utilize on-premises backup data in the cloud with CloudSpin.
• Convert on-premises VMs to appropriate cloud formats: Format issues across on-premises and the cloud impede true application mobility. Making this process easy and seamless is where CloudSpin shines.
• Provision data for test/dev in the cloud: Spinning VMs up instantly in the cloud is a key requirement for more agile test/dev. Once the test/dev process in the cloud is done, the VM can be brought down. CloudSpin makes this very easy to do based on idle backup data from on-premises.
• Consistent manageability: Having a consistent management approach to manage both on-premises and cloud backup simplifies administration and reduces TCO. Cohesity DataPlatform provides that across both on-premises and the public cloud.

IBM Cloud Webcast: Top 3 Misconceptions about Cloud-hosted VDI

Topic: Do you think Cloud-hosted VDI is inferior to a physical desktop due to the lack the computational power for Microsoft Windows 10, streaming video, or even 3D modeling software? Do you think Cloud-hosted VDI is too time-consuming to deploy and too complicated to manage? Do you think Cloud-hosted VDI is not for you because you have a diverse global workforce? If your answer is “yes” to any of the above questions, you should join us to debunk these myths from the past and see how you can leverage VMware Horizon Cloud on IBM Cloud to improve productivity, agility and cost for your organization.

Western Digital Webcast: Accelerating Tier 1 Applications with All Flash vSAN Solutions

Western Digital Webcast: Accelerating Tier 1 Applications with All Flash vSAN Solutions

Topic: This session will discuss how to take full advantages of all-flash vSAN hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) solutions for accelerating tier-1 applications by examining in detail an all-flash vSAN solution built using dense and high-performance servers and Western Digital high performance but cost-effective NVMe and SAS SSDs. What results are available to demonstrate the feasibility of using all-flash vSAN run tier-1 applications? We shall examine extensive test results from our performance testing using SQL Server 2016. What are the tips and guidelines to configure vSAN, compute, storage and networking to accelerate tier-1 applications? We will share the configuration and optimization guidelines we compiled during our performance testing project. What are the TCO/TCA numbers for this all-flash solution in considering this as an alternative to traditional storage configurations? We shall be sharing some of the results available from our TCO Study using an all-flash all-NVMe vSAN solution.
