Chief Technologist - Storage & Availability

Ron Singler is a Chief Technologist in the HCI Business Unit, Office of the CTO at VMware. Ron is currently focusing on all things vSAN, Core Storage, Data Management and Data Protection. Prior to VMware, his 20-year career in technology has spanned roles from an End User to Solutions Architecture for HCI pioneer SimpliVity. In his spare time you can find him hanging with his family or out fishing somewhere in Florida. Session Title: What in the Hyperconverged Happened to the Infrastructure

Session Abstract: Hyperconverged Infrastructure has impacted not only the physical infrastructure in our data centers but also our operational teams and careers as a whole. In this session we'll discuss how HCI has changed the infrastructure landscape, how HCI has changed the organizations we are a part of and how we must adapt our careers to meet these new challenges. We will also review how VMware vSAN and VMware Cloud Foundation help us along this journey and give us new technologies to learn as well as broaden the solutions and technologies that we can call ourselves experts on. We will also review demos of recent and upcoming features that will enhance our ability to adapt to the changing landscape.
